PEER REVIEW PROCEDURE

The peer-review procedure is organized either by Sidestone Press or the series editor and is anonymous, unless the reviewer chooses to make their identity known. In order for a manuscript to be accepted for this imprint a minimum of two well-respected, international scholars must review the manuscript. By filling out our peer-review form, the reviewers advise Sidestone Press on a number of aspects:

  • Academic quality of the research and analysis
  • Originality of research and argument
  • Language, style and composition
  • Overall recommendation

Before being accepted as a reviewer, the contacted peer is presented with the following questions: (a) based on the information provided (title and abstract of the book), does the book match your expertise; (b) are there any reasons why you should not review this book (potential conflict of interest?), and (c) if you have the time to review the manuscript within the coming 2-3 months.
